GOALS

Here are my goals for reading, writing and math for Term 3.

Oscar

Oscar is a man who plays the violin.  

He is 80 years old and plays the violin. He has one daughter who died. Oscar has one kitten too.

He has pale white hair with dirty glasses. His violin is solid wood. Oscar has a white light t-shirt. When it is bed time, he puts on his pyjamas.

He plays the violin on the stage to sometimes hypnotise people. He plays the violin to put his daughter to sleep. He is at the back of the stage drinking his black tea.   

He plays the violin because it is the only instrument he wanted to play.

Papapa

The papapa has white bell shaped flowers.

It is found throughout New Zealand.

Maori Name: Papapa

Common names: Tuming, Snowberry

Botanical name: Gaultheria antipoda

Papapa is a shrub that grows to a height of one metre.

Wounds and bruising:

The leaves of the papapa plant can be applied directly to wounds as a poultice.

Stomach complaints:

The white flowers of the papapa shrub were eaten by the Maori to treat bouts of diarrhoea.

Other rongoa uses:

Leaves of the papapa plant were boiled in water and the infusion taken by mouth to increase the milk supply of nursing mothers.
